PERFORMING ARTS WORKSHOPS
The Black Rep professional guest artists visit schools and community organizations and conduct short and long-term workshops in creative drama, theatre performance, cooperative games, theatre production and poetry performance for students and teachers.
THEATRE PERFORMANCE (GRADES: K-12; MAXIMUM PARTICIPANTS: 15-30)
Participants learn creative expression through vocal and movement techniques, characterization, discussion or story adaptation.
COOPERATIVE GAMES (GRADES: K-12; MAXIMUM PARTICIPANTS: 15-30)
Participants develop cooperation, creative self-expression, cognitive analysis, positive behavioral skills, self-confidence and imagination through improvisational games. (Also available as a Teacher Workshop.)
THEATRE PRODUCTION (GRADES: 7-12; MAXIMUM PARTICIPANTS: 15-30)
Participants learn behind-the-scenes roles and collaborations that take place in order to mount a production, from stage managers to actors and box office staff. Adaptable for Career Day!
POETRY PERFORMANCE (GRADES: K-12; MAXIMUM PARTICIPANTS: 15-30)
Participants learn poetry composition, creative self-expression through vocal and movement techniques, characterization and adaptation of poetry for performance.
