Ronald L. Conner

Ronald L. Conner is excited to be returning to The Black Rep stage for Katori Hall’s The Mountain Top.  Conner started his career as an intern in the St. Louis Black Repertory Touring Co.  He was last seen as Boy Willie in The Piano Lesson.  This was Ron’s third time bringing the character of Boy Willie to life. His previous performances were at Portland Stage Company, in Portland Maine, and Court Theatre in Chicago, where he received the Black Theatre Alliance award for best lead actor. Other Black Rep credits include: Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Macbeth, The River Niger, Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, Damn Yankees, and Bubblin’ Brown Sugar.  This is Ron’s third time bringing the character of Boy Willie to life.  His previous performances where at Portland Stage Company, in Portland Maine, and Court Theatre in Chicago, where he received the Black Theatre Alliance award for Best Lead Actor.  In Chicago, Ron Conner is a proud ensemble member of Congo Square Theatre where he’s performed in The Colored Museum, The Talented Tenth (2008 BTAA for Best performance in an ensemble), and Deep Azzure. Other regional theatres include: Chicago Shakespeare, Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati, and Geva Theatre of Rochester. Most notable Film and Television credits include: National Coors Light NFL Campaign, and The Dark Knight. “To my mama, who made me, the village that raised me, and all the African-American actors who paved the way. . . on your shoulders I stand.”
